In Laos, when families face sudden crises (such as a medical emergency, a child’s educational expenses, or support for an elderly community member), there is often no safety net to support them.

Without a functioning social security system, families rely entirely on one another, and when that support is unavailable, their future can be at risk.

At The Namkhan Eco Resort, we see these struggles every day and help in any way we can. But our resources are limited, and the needs are enormous. That’s why we’re launching the Emergency Community Fund, a $5,000 fund dedicated to providing immediate and transformative support to our neighbors in need.

The Vision

The Emergency Community Fund will serve as a lifeline for underprivileged individuals and families facing urgent challenges such as:

Medical Emergencies: Covering surgeries or critical treatments for those who cannot afford life-saving care.
Educational Opportunities: Supporting children from impoverished families to stay in school by funding tuition, uniforms, and school supplies.
Elderly Assistance: Providing essential care, food, or housing support to elderly villagers who have no family to rely on.

Why This Fund Is Important
In Laos:

How the Fund Will Be Used

The fund will operate with full transparency, ensuring that every dollar makes a direct impact. Some examples of possible uses include:

Medical Assistance: $300 can cover hospitalization costs for surgery or emergency treatment.
Educational Support: $100 can pay for a child’s tuition and school supplies for an entire year.
Elder Care: $50 can provide food and essentials for an elderly person for one month.

Our goal is to raise $5,000, which will be used to respond to at least 20-30 emergencies throughout the year.

An annual financial report showing exactly how the money was spent and the lives it benefited.

A Life-Saving Surgery:
Last year, NamKhan staff raised funds to help a 5-year-old child who needed emergency treatment for an infection. The cost? Only $250, but without our help, their family wouldn’t have been able to afford it. With your support, we can save more lives like theirs.
