I am very proud to have joined the Namkhan team as of 1st November. A fabulous place, with a warm history of welcoming travelers and supporting the community through sustainable concepts.
The resort owners have lovingly transformed the property from its roots in 2015 as an Eco Farm, to an Eco Farm with luxury accommodation, then Glamping and horse stable since 2019, to then adding suites and villas in late 2022 to now be Luang Prabang’s quintessential Eco-Resort, nestled along the Khan River, being the only beach resort in the area; yes, private BBQ dinners on the beach are offered, plus an evening bonfire for guests to mingle over cocktails and more.
As of August 1 this year, the resort becomes the only Lao member of SLH – Considerate Collection and therefore within the broader Hilton scope.
The team and I look forward to welcoming our travellers to enjoy their own ‘bespoke’ Namkhan experience through fabulous, tranquil sleeping options, organic meals, activities (some more active than tranquil) on-site, on the river, off-site (including our very own IMekong – the most tranquil cruise option on the Mekong River), as well as supporting the local community through Namkhan Help, an active international volunteer programme, and from 2025 collaborating with Lao and international hospitality universities supporting internships.
To conclude, I have been very fortunate to have worked in 8, now Laos, 9 countries, with some fabulous properties, companies and people during my career, and in all cases I have focused on developing teams and individuals as people and within their careers; this will continue here, ensuring that Namkhan, Luang Prabang and Laos have passionate hoteliers and hospitality leaders now and in the future.
